Sharing is caring!
The other day I was at the gym and noticed I was way too tired to workout. Have you ever felt that way before?
I’m sure you probably have it’s especially difficult to work out after a long work day.
The last thing you feel like doing sometimes is going to the gym or exercising.
I’ve been dedicated to exercising and keeping fit for years but…
…There are days I just force through a workout.
If you have been tired when working out here are three possible reasons why and what you can do to fix it.
Are you getting enough sleep?
If you’re an adult and are getting less than eight hours of sleep you may be feeling it when you exercise.
According to the national sleep foundation an adult needs 7-9 hours a sleep. If you find yourself feeling tired throughout the day and not just when exercising you may be sleep deprived.
Try going to bed at the same time every day and waking up at the same time everyday. Making sure you have the 7-9 hours you need to function properly through the day.
If you’re having a hard time getting to sleep try a glass of red wine before bed and try to go to bed 20-30 minutes early.
Watch the video below for more tips on getting to sleep quicker.
How long Should I Take To Recover?
I used to workout 6 days a week. One of my trainers told me I was not letting myself have enough time to recover in between workouts.
You ever notice that after a workout you feel sore, but the second day you feel even sorer? That’s because it usually takes 48 hours for optimal recovery.
Now I workout less and have more gains. It’s a win-win!
You could try it for a few months and find out if that’s what works for you. If you want to add in more days you can always do so later.
It’s been good for me to go down to 4 days a week. I don’t feel as sore when I exercise and I’ve noticed better workouts and I can lift heavier weight too.
Feeling Dehydrated?
Did you know being dehydrated can make you feel tired and weak? Are you drinking enough water? Remember the 8 X 8 Rule…
What’s That you might say? I thought you’d never ask.
It’s easy to remember to drink 8 glasses of 8 ounces of water a day is what most health professionals recommend.
For more useful information this article explains ways to stay hydrated.
If you are a coffee or tea drinker this can be one factor that is making you dehydrated. Be sure to drink you’re daily dosage of water and you’re body will thank you.
Wanna Stop That Tired Feeling When Working Out?
I’ve started going to bed at the same time each day and waking up at the same time. This has improved my energy levels and I have notice it’s helped me lose weight too…
That’s an added benefit I wasn’t expecting. Going from 6 days a week to 4 days a week was just what I needed to give my body the much needed rest to be ready for the next workout.
This also helped me feel stronger and exercise longer. Drinking water more often to make sure I get the amount necessary for my body weight was very helpful too.
I am one of those people that really didn’t drink enough water, but when I do I notice the difference and you will too.
I’m impressed, I must say. Seldom do I come across a blog that’s both equally
educative and entertaining, and without a doubt, you’ve hit the nail on the head.
The problem is an issue that too few people are
speaking intelligently about. I am very happy I stumbled
across this in my search for something concerning this.
