Today more than ever peoples lives are very busy which can cause stress in several ways. I know my life has always been incredibly busy, but it was causing me to feel run down and sometimes feel depressed.
In order to avoid this from happening again, I’ve learned to have outlets for relieving stress and making these activities fun encourages me to do them more often. So if you are feeling stressed and like having fun here are some of the best ways to relieve your stress and start having fun. Life can’t always be serious, you gotta have fun!
List of Stress Relieving Activites:
- Go On A Mini-Vacation- You don’t have to go far or spend a lot of money to go on a mini-vacation. I used to live close to the beach and would spend time by the ocean. Maybe play some frisbee, surfing, or just listening to the ocean and breathing in the crisp ocean air did a lot of good and I felt totally refreshed by the time I was home. What’s a good mini-vacation sport for you? Where would you go? What would you do? Whatever it is you should give it a try.
- Music Is The Answer- Have you ever noticed that when you update or add new songs to your iPod or whatever it is you use to listen to music with it’s like recharging your mental battery. I know having new songs helps me feel good and I forget my worries. Listening to music is an affordable and relaxing mini-vacation.
- Scents Your Way To Peace- What I’m talking about is aromatherapy. Adding a candle or diffuser to your workspace or where you sleep can really help you feel calm and put your mind at ease.
- Magic Hands– Getting a massage can really be the treat you needed to help you feel like new. Getting away on your lunch or going after work can be something fun to look forward to and break up the day.
- Pour Away The Stress- I have been drinking a glass of red wine before bed for several years. Not every night, but at least two or three times a week. Keep it to one glass and then go to bed. You’ll sleep well and feel relaxed. Works every time!
- Get Freaky More Often- Making love on a regular basis not only feels amazing it also keeps your mind clear and more focused throughout the day. Your lover will reap the rewards of this fun stress relieving activity too.
- Use That Green Thumb- Gardening can be a fun way to unwind and get rid of stress. It also helps get your mind off any problems you might be facing and focus on what you are doing. Growing your garden.
There’s An App For That
It’s true, pretty much anything you can think of has an app nowadays. I’ve discovered some of the best apps for stress relief. Check out this list below and find out which one gets rid of stress for you:
- The Mindfulness App- This app has relaxing sounds and calming music for you to listen to that helps you manage stress.

Anyone of these apps will help you manage stress and you can, of course, get them all if you choose. Most of them are free to use and really do help.
Fun Stress Relieving activities at work
It can be hard to get away from work sometimes, but that doesn’t have to get in the way or having fun while relieving stress. Try these activities below:
Most jobs I’ve had didn’t give more than 15 minutes for a break, but it’s enough for a walk. Going for a walk and getting away from your desk really helps to break the stress and relax your mind. The bad part of this is sometimes you just want to keep walking and not go back to work… only kidding: )
Keep some healthy snacks nearby that you can munch on throughout the workday. I don’t know how this works, but it does. Anytime I eat I’m happier so I make sure it’s something good for me.
At my office, we sometimes get messages that we can sign up for when they are available. A team of massage therapist would come once a month and it was definitely a fun way to relieve stress at work.
Unfortunately, they get booked up fast so I go to my other option. Stretching. The last message I had I was told to stretch at my desk every couple of hours. If you do this you’ll stay more alert get more work accomplished and most importantly reduce your stress level.
Summary:
It’s true that everyday life can be very stressful and if you don’t take time to get away for a break now an then it will only get worse. Following these fun stress relieving activities will really help you both mentally and physically.
If you have some vacation time you can take a mini vacation or just spend some time away when you can to a place that gets your mind off your worries and helps you feel better. For me it was the beach, there’s no place like a beach and It’s my go-to anytime I need to unwind.
One of the things I really love about technology is that it can help make your life better in many ways. One of those ways is selecting a useful app that will help you manage your stress levels and keep you calmer.
Getting away can sometimes be difficult, but you really need some stress relief. Instead of smoking or doing an unhealthy activity. Try Stretching at your desk just a few minutes can be enough to knock off stress and get you through the workday with ease.
