What’s In Your Gym Bag?- Best Items To Pack

I usually like to go to the gym before or after work and have my gym bag with me. That way I can prevent skipping they gym because once I get home…

…I’m not as likely to want to go back out and run to the gym. It’s helped me from skipping my workout routine for years now.  At first, I wouldn’t give it much thought, but after forgetting something important, like my shoes : )

I’ve learned that having a list of gym bag essentials is very important. So here’s a list of essentials for your gym bag.

Gym Bag- For Your Healthy Lifestyle

Obviously, we have to start with the gym bag. I love this gym bag from Rigor Gear. It has dual shoe compartments, five external mess pockets, and several zipper compartments. A rugged and lightweight bag that will hold everything you need for every gym visit.

Don’t Forget The Soap! Personal Hygiene Must-Haves

  • Deodorant

  • Shampoo
  • Lotion

  • Comb/Bush

Music Makes Me Move… Give me Tunes

Usually, the music in the gym isn’t the best for working out or even worse, it’s silent-no music.  So, don’t forget your MP3 player or iPod.

I’m one of those people that needs music to keep me going in the gym and help me last longer. Nothing like music to keep you motivated.

And if you hate wires that always get tangled, that’s me in the gym spending 5-10 minutes untangling my earbuds. Now I use wireless earbuds, best small investment.

Gym Clothes- What To Pack?

  1. Workout Shirt- Have Two as a back-up
  2. Workout Sweats or Shorts- Again, Bring a back-up
  3. Socks/Underwear- Usually I have 3-4 of each
  4. Shoes

Hungry? Bring Protein Bars And Powder

Sometimes you need a quick pick me up before starting your workout. Bring your water bottle/shaker and drink a shake or have a bar.

It will help you from cheating on your diet later and give you the energy needed to exercise. The Bars below taste great and come in a variety of flavors… Try them and let me know which one you like best.

Miscellaneous Not Necessarily Essential- But Recommended

I don’t like using the free towels that are provided to me at the gym. So I always bring my own towel, chalk, belt, and straps. Now that you have your gym bag ready to go with all your essentials. I’ll provide a summary checklist below:

Make sure to take out all of the dirty gym clothes! And have clean clothes and a towel to replace it with as soon you can. Plastic bags to stick your sweaty clothes into works perfect and helps from stinking up your bag.
